Meatballs, little balls of meaty perfection that can be served in oh so many ways. Which, of course is the main reason I love them. Serve them on toasted rolls with marinara sauce and melted cheese and you have hot Italian goodness. Put them on a plate next to mashed potatoes for the perfect comfort food on a cold winter night. Add a glaze and throw them in the crock-pot: instant appetizers.
This recipe for meatballs is simple, straightforward and delicious. I found it on Allrecipes.com years ago- like back in the day when we actually printed recipes off years ago. It’s been in our meal rotation ever since. If you are feeling really industrious, spend a Saturday afternoon simmering this homemade spaghetti sauce over the stove and serve the two together. D-freaking-licious.
Extra points for drinking a glass of wine while you stir, because it’s proven to make you a better stirrer.
7: “Gross. I don’t like meatballs.” Eats five at one meal and four the next day at lunch
5: “I TOLD you I don’t like hamburger!” Eats four meatballs dipped in ketchup.
3: “Disgustin’.” Eats ketchup with a spoon.
~ These freeze really well, so it’s convenient to make a double batch and save half for another time.
~ Feel free to use whatever ground meat you prefer, I usually use a mix of pork, beef and turkey or honestly, whatever we have on hand.
~ Don’t be afraid of the red pepper flakes and hot sauce, these are by no means spicy and these ingredients just add so much flavor!
