Welcome to the Thanksgiving Edition of Recipes My Family Doesn’t Hate!
Today’s recipe is the most amazingly easy delicious homemade bread you will ever eat… in fact, there is a very good chance that it will be the only thing my kids eat tomorrow during the most wonderful meal of the year.
This recipe comes from Simply So Good and has been in our comfort food rotation for years. It’s perfect with an artichoke dip for a holiday appetizer, served alongside a steaming rich bowl of vegetable stew or my personal favorite, grilled into a egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. Freaking miraculous.
Actually, couldn’t get anything out of them this time. Their mouths were too stuffed with crusty bread to respond.
This bread presents gorgeously, making it a simple and beautiful gift for neighbors, friends and teachers, but to be honest, we’ve never had loaf make it out of the kitchen. Best of intentions, friends, best of intentions.
Try it sweet with cinnamon, sugar and golden raisins mixed in, or savory with cheddar and basil. Whatever you do, just try it. You can’t go wrong.
Watch the loaf for doneness, the recipe calls to bake an additional 15 minutes after removing the lid but I’ve rarely needed the extra time. It seems to come out just perfectly in our oven after 30 minutes.
