An Honest Review of “From Hobby to Full Time Gig”

I took the course because I had been blogging for several months, and had varying levels of success but literally no idea how to capitalize on those successes. I was constantly reading and researching blogging tips, tricks and how-to’s and my Pinterest board was full of great advice, but it was ALL OVER THE PLACE.
I needed something comprehensive.
Enter Hobby to Full Time Gig, an eight week course covering everything from blog set up and content creation to social media marketing, e-mail lists and monetization. I was lucky enough to get into the course for just $199 and for a limited time you can too!
After eight weeks, here is my honest review:
Literal hand holding.
When Krystal and Leslie say they are going to be there every step of the way, they are not kidding. Krystal answered questions during her honeymoon, Leslie created content when I’m sure she would have rather been puking from first trimester morning sickness. There was no question or issue that I couldn’t approach these two with that wasn’t me with a quick and comprehensive explanation. Bonus: Krystal lives in Australia so you basically have 24 hour access to amazing coaching.
Granted not every step of the plan will work consecutively for every blogger, but the content is accessible FOREVER. So while a fellow blogger merely glanced over the Facebook module and I originally skipped theme creation and sight structure- you know, because I had all that figured out already- we knew we could revisit the content at any time.
Service After the Sale.
The course comes with full access to a Facebook group for students and alumni run by Krystal and Leslie. This means you get continued access to instruction long after the course ends, plus a community to help brainstorm, support and sometimes simply commiserate, because let’s face it that needs to be done too.
Geared for Newer Bloggers
Or those of us who feel completely stuck after blogging for months, so this wasn’t much a con for me. However, depending on where you are at in your blogging career, some of the modules might not apply… at least at first. I had already created my blog when I started the course so the module on setting up hosting and themes wasn’t that helpful. Until I realized that the free theme I had choose seriously lacked functionality and was taking major time and energy to modify. Back to Module 1. Sigh.
So. Much. Content.
Ok, so obviously not a true con. But this is a jam packed 8 week course and it can feel overwhelming at times. Like, “OMG, everyone else is on to Pinterest and I’m back at square one trying to figure out this freaking blog theme!” Krystal and Leslie are always quick to point out that it doesn’t have to be done all at once. Having continuous access to the course has been such an advantage. I’m continuing to work my way through and going back to review content that I need more time to study and implement.
Well, it’s eight weeks later and I just quit my job to blog full time! Just kidding, I don’t even want to quit my job. What I am hoping to do is create a serious part time income doing something I love and after this course, I finally feel like I have all of the tools to accomplish this. Best of all those tools are all in one place with continued amazing support.
Since starting the course, I have seen increased Pinterest traffic, increased Facebook engagement, and nearly doubled my pageviews. I’ve also learned how to make killer graphics in just a couple of minutes, learned marketing tactics that work for both my blog and my full time career and most importantly, have mapped out a plan to make my goals happen. Not bad for eight weeks and $199! The course fees are also fully refundable if you aren’t happy with your results.
Krystal and Leslie are offering the intro price of $199 through Cyber Monday. Click on the link below to take advantage of this amazing special and feel free to contact me with any questions you have about the course at firstname.lastname@example.org.
