They can be a shit show. My husband goes to work early and so most days it’s just me and the kids getting out of the house. I know many of you must be thinking to yourself, “She makes it look so easy!” Especially all of the parents and teachers across the street watching me take out the garbage while wearing my husband’s underwear and waving like Cousin Eddy in Christmas Vacation. “Mornin’! Trash can’s full!”
I want you to know that you too, can have the easy, breezy, perfectly choreographed mornings that we enjoy at the Bay household. To help, I’ve put together a three step plan that’s so easy to follow you’ll be dancing out of the house in no time.
Enjoy a protein packed breakfast. You’ll notice that I’ve chosen an all natural peanut butter to eat directly from the jar. That’s mostly because I value health and nutrition and my children’s’ future more than parents who feed their family anything less… or because it was on sale.
Prepare half a dozen scrambled eggs with ketchup at the request of your children and watch them eat approximately two bites each while reminding you that they don’t really like scrambled eggs anymore. Ketchup can be a disaster to scrape off of dirty dishes when it dries so be sure to pre-rinse all dishes before leaving the house. Save time and work later? You go girl!
Remember, you’ll be back in that kitchen and dining room in no time at all to prepare dinner, so make sure that the table is clear of all crumbs and debris from the morning meal. Bonus? This step doubles as a climbing routine for your overweight, geriatric dog. You can now tell the vet that you most certainly are making sure that she gets enough exercise.
That’s it, three simple steps to a calmer morning! You are feeling more zen already aren’t you?
